Correcting Credit Reports

There are many cases of errors that can lead to the denial of credit. Many involve simple mistakes, while others involve incorrect demographic information. Filing for bankruptcy might actually improve your credit report, and the Beason Law Group can make sure that you are aware of these options.

The US Congress passed the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) in 1971, and has revised it several times, most recently in 1997. The Act’s requires  credit reporting agencies to remove all obsolete, inaccurate, irrelevant, outdated, misidentifying, incomplete, incorrect, erroneous, and misleading information from their credit reports. Our firm can determine if this or any legislation can benefit you.

When you file for bankruptcy, the credit card companies will automatically remove access to any credit.  In some cases, you can reaffirm a credit card after the company has closed the account. While this may benefit the company, as they are profitable based on interest, our firm can supply you with a plan without the use of further credit.
